Special Indexes of Physical Production - Packaging
Methodological Notes
IBGE now releases in its web portal special indexes for the Packaging sector. The main objective of the special indexes is to better understand this industrial sector in the short term, by cutting out some specific products of the Monthly Industrial Survey – Physical Production.
The products were grouped under the following typology: Glass Packaging; Metal Packaging; Wood Packaging; Paper and Cardboard Packaging (Flexible, Corrugated and Semi-Rigid); Plastic Packaging (Flexible and Rigid). It is important to mention that not all the products belonging to these special indexes are available in the industrial subsectors of PIM-PF. The attached chart shows the description of the products that compose this index, including their weights.
