Special Dissemination Index
Methodological Notes
IBGE makes available on its web site the special Dissemination index. The objective of this indicator is to improve the analysis of industrial performance at short-term, by informing the percentage of products of the Monthly Survey of Industry – Brazil which have recorded increase or decrease and by providing better understanding of the distribution of overall results at product level. The Dissemination index is measured according to the monthly indicator, and the percentage reported refers to the number of products whose change has followed the same direction as General Industry and each one of the Categories of Use. These series, which started in January 2003, will be updated monthly for the overall industry and categories of use.
