Gross Domestic Product of Municipalities 2005-2009
IBGE, in partnership with State Statistical Organizations, State Government Departments and the Superintendence of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (Suframa), presents, in this publication, estimates for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Municipalities.
The publication shows, for the period from 2005 to 2009, the results for gross value added, at current prices, of the three major sectors of economic activity - Agriculture, Industry and Services - as well as the series of gross value added of public administration, health and education and of social security. Information about GDP and GDP per capita and the selected tables for all the Brazilian municipalities refer to year 2009. The analysis of results, illustrated with tables, charts, graphs and cartograms, highlights some economic aspects of national, regional and municipal coverage.
The publication also includes annexes with the Gini Index of economic activity by Major Regions and Federation Units, in 2009, among other data of methodological nature, and a glossary with the terms and concepts considered relevant to the understanding of results.
The methodology and the database of the GDP of Municipalities are completely integrated to the new series of National Accounts and Regional Accounts of Brazil, and its results are compatible with the National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE 1.0).
