Annual Survey of Industry - Enterprise 2009
This publication gathers a group of financial and economic information which allow the estimation of basic structural characteristics of industrial activities in the country and the monitoring of their evolution over time.
It presents, among other aspects, data about employed persons, salaries, withdrawal and other compensation, revenue, costs and expenditure, production costs and gross value added. Results are based on version 2.0 of the National Classification of Economic Activities - CNAE - and come together with a well-structured analysis subdivided into two sections. In the first one the overall results of the Annual Survey of Industry – Enterprise for 2009 are compared with results of the previous year, relative to the total number of companies and the structure of revenue, costs and expenditure of investments, among other relevant information. The highlights are the short-term factors that exert the most influence on these results. The second section deals with highlights by region, both in terms of subsector and in terms of economic variables selected for analysis, considering year 2009.
The publication includes technical notes about methodological aspects. The CD-ROM which comes enclosed with the publication contains, besides information from the printed volume of 2009, detailed retrospective information. The table plan of the survey covers the period from 1996 to 2009, as well as results relative to companies with 30 or more persons employed and/or that had gross revenue from sales of industrial products and services above a given value in the year prior to the year of reference. The CNAE 1.0 version presents the time series from 1996 to 2007, and the CNAE 2.0 version presents information relative to the period from 2007 to 2009.
These results, also available on the IBGE web site, are the most complete source of statistics about the productive structure of industry in Brazil.
